Please welcome Mary Franklin who will now be running our new bookclub.

The meetings will be at her home on the last Tuesday of each month at 3pm (Blauzac) Numbers will be kept to 10, so again, please reserve your place with her in advance.

BRITSNIMES JUBILEE GARDEN PARTY

2nd June, starting 7pm.

To celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, we have decided to hold a Jubilee Barbecue-Buffet Party.

It will take place in the Brochier's garden in Nimes, which most of you know because we have already had 2 Summer Musical evenings there.

BritsNimes will provide the wine & meat but we count on our 'guests' to bring a contribution towards the Buffet, either Entrée, Main dish or Sweet.

We also need some DVD's or CD's to enhance the atmosphere.

Friends and relatives are welcome, providing they too bring their contribution towards the evening.

As usual, Patricia will be coordinating the event so please reply to her by email as soon as possible, stating:

- How many you will be,

- What you will be contributing towards the Buffet,

- Whether or not you can provide any suitable DVD's or CD's or can make suggestions.

- Whether you can help out in the organisation:

Setting up tables and chairs

Being Bartender for the night

Sorting out the food

Serving at the Buffet

Clearing the debris at the end of each course.

To make the evening especially memorable, we would love to have some volunteers to entertain so if you have any hidden talents, however dubious, please talk to Patricia about this.

There will be a lot of organisation for this event so if you can come or think you can come, please send in your reservations as soon as possible. Closing date for inscriptions 28 May.

Nimes Pub Night

Our monthly pub night as at the Ever'in, 1 place Severine halfway up the Jean Jaures, Nimes.

We meet the last Thursday of the month from 9pm onwards.

The Walking Club

The next Britsnimes walk will take place on Wednesday, 9^th May 2012.
Walk commencing at 10.00am. Meet at 9.45am.

SALINELLES

A 2 hour walk through and around the village.
To be guided by Ina and Daniel Pujol

Directions & Meeting: Salinelles is off the D35 close to Sommieres. Drive in to the centre of the village to the main square where you will find the Lou Pesco bar. Park in the square.This is our start point.

Difficulty: suitable for all abilities.

As always you are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear. Please bring water with you.

Uzes Coffee Morning

Each 3rd Wednesday of the month we have the Coffee morning in Uzès at 10.30am at le Bengali in the Place Albert Premier near the tourist office.

In the Winter and on cold or wet days in the room upstairs (stairs at far end of the bar). Outside in the Summer.

Directions : Take Route 106 (the Nimes to Ales road) towards Ales, to exit 6. Exit, and at the roundabout take the first turning to the right onto the D936 (Ancienne route de Nimes), and the Restaurant is 100 metres on the right hand side

Menu : Three courses (with three choices for each course), plus wine and coffee included

The chef chooses the Menu two to three days before, depending on what is available in the market, so the exact menu that we will have on the day is not yet known.

However, a typical Menu is as follows:
